Dash Lights but no ABS

Hi

Just purchase a Z4 07 plate and have these lights on and wondered if anyone can help.

I thought it was an ABS sensor but reading posts the ABS light isn’t on so can I think it’s not that ?

Any advice very much appreciated.

You need to plug it in and read the codes.

ABS light is not on even when the sensor is gone. Without reading the codes it is guesswork if it is a wheel sensor, yaw sensor or abs unit (in order of expense)

Usually get a fourth light if it’s a wheel sensor but I’m damned if I can remember which.
Check under the drivers seat for damp under the carpet. If it’s wet then possibly start saving up for a yaw sensor

I had those three lights for my wheel sensor (without the fuel one :lol: )

Just looking back at my records and it was the ABS light that I got along with those three when it was the wheel sensor.
If your speedo still works it won't be the rear right one.

As already said, without reading the codes you're flying blind really.

Thanks for the replies , I’m getting access to a code reader next week the one I have been using has only been for engine codes.

I think I need them off for the MOT , I’ve a binding Caliper so have a new one arriving on Monday .

Carly gave me front left and rear right, but when I changed the left front, there were no warnings anymore so no idea why the rear came up.

So now I have a spare (more expensive) rear sensor

Will that Autel let you recalibrate and reset your current one?

Facelift ones are stupid money! Just sold my last one on here 'cheap' at £130. :?

Usually it is because they are wet, so you need to check under the carpet on the drivers side. It may feel dry on top but the foam underneath can hold pints of water! If so, then fix the leak first, but regardless of that, when you fit a new sensor, seal it in a poly bag, with a silica gel sachet for company.

Door membranes.
Open the door and get someone to run a hose along the bottom edge of the window. Favourite place is about 6" back from the bottom front corner. The membrane lifts away from the door and lets water in. Don't bother with butyl tape. As much use as a chocolate teapot! Get some Tec7 black sealant. My good friend [ref]bigwinn[/ref] stated that it would probably seal a black hole if you could get close enough.

No traction control working is that to do with the YAW sensor not working .

I’m actually really enjoying doing the jobs , feels a bit like back to basics .

Yup traction control is all through that same damn thing!

Well that’s a bonus changing the sensor should fix it all.
Just felt under the seat and all bone dry but that’s not saying it hasn’t been wet in the past so will check everything out. The car had sat for three years .
