You MAY have convinced me to give it a go! I’ve got the pry tools.

Will watch YouTube for tips too :D

Could you post up the link / eBay item number for the vinyl you used?

Thanks.
Saj

Didn't heat up the wrapped panels after I finished. I did apply heat to all the edges to stretch the vinyl gently around the contours. All the flat pieces appear to be stuck solid so hopefully not necessary but I guess time will tell...

This is what I did. And as a tip I recomend: DO NOT buy cheap chinese wrap. Spend more pennies for a high qualiy 3M. Also after wraping all elements you have to heat the winyl wrap to 92-100 Celsius degrees so it will hold its shape.

flat sections to not need to be post heated at all.... corners may be worth post heating depending on techniques used.... always good practice on trim pieces to use vinyl primer on the edges, makes a huge difference!

I'm about to do mine, what are your reservations re chinese wrap? Difficult to apply? Wrinkling post wrapping?

Wrinkling post wrapping

Yes, wrinkling post wrapping. Not on the flat surface but at corners and edges. Cheap wrap = cheap adhesive.
Even after squeegeeing you might get air bubles due to poor air release channel.
Had before chinesse carbon fibre and after a hot day had to rip it off because of wrinkles. Been there, done that, now I know - don't go cheap.
In my opinion there's a significant difference between applying high quality wrap or chinese. Doesn't have to be 3M. Can be VViViD+, Oracal, Avery.

Some detail...
Hi. Looks awesome mate. Did you remove the main dash panel or did you manage to wrap it where it is ?
There's a guy on you tube who attempts to remove it but abandons it due to an inaccessible clip. :(
Would love to do mine as the silver looks pants compared to yours. :(

Having done this I would imagine the clip he struggled with is the one on the extreme left/passenger side of the dash panel. It is quite easily accessible if you remove the passenger side air vent first. You can then get your hand in and feel for the clip on the back of the dash panel. To then undo you need to understand how it works as it is quite unusual. If you have a small inspection mirror with a light on it or you can get your phone to get a photo you will be able to see it. It looks like this (photo is from this forum)20200613_103216.jpg
If you then squeeze the two sides together (red arrows) it can then be withdrawn upwards (yellow arrow) being careful to not lose the ring/washer that is trapped behind it. 20200613_103425.jpg
Refitting it is a little more tricky but just take your time and be careful not to drop the clip or washer !

You could probably tie a thin fishing line around the clip and if it drops you can at least recover it? Yes, once fitted it would be captured, but you could just leave it behind the dash. It's not like it will rattle or anything....

That looks nice, what colour is it? Steel?

It's BLACK BRUSHED ALUMINUM from 3M, 1080 series.

Definitely lost the washer behind that clip but didn't notice. Since refitted with no rattles so will leave as is...

What size pieces are required for doing the dash and centre console? Considering giving this a go but don't want to end up with massive excess or not enough!

You can measure the pieces yourself, but allow around 200mm x 950mm for the main dash panel, 200mm x 150mm for the light switch surround, and 350mm x 600mm for the console panel. If you buy 1500 x 600, it should be plenty. see below.

The only issue with doing it like this with a Carbon pattern is that the bands will run in different directions on your dash and centre console. I am OCD and had to have them all running from bottom left to top right as you face forward in the car.

Yes, if you wanted complete freedom of direction, a 1.52m x 1m piece is more than enough.

I'm at the point where I'm annoyed with my wrap. The edges are peeling around some bits so am considering painting it in plastidip....
