I got the 803 as well. Recorded about 70 gigs of footage on a 2 day trip through the Colorado Rockies this September. No problems except that I _think_ it reset to factory defaults a couple of times. not sure if it was me not saving them correctly. What I love about it is it clips off in a sec so I can toss it in the glovebox if I park it with the top down
For power I got a cheap power outlet multitap and put it in the glovebox with double sided tape. As a bonus it included a USB outlet so I can charge stuff without a clumsy adaptor in front of the stick. Then I put a fuse tap into one of the open circuits in the fuse box (conveniently located just behind the glovebox

) that was switched - the powered outlet on the Z (at least mine with the steering wheel on the
Correct side of the car

) is always on, which is not good from a fire hazard standpoint and tends to fill up your SD cards with lots of exciting footage of the garage wall. I was able to run the cord around the windshield, down into the footwell, and behind the glovebox without drilling any holes and no visible wire
My only regret is that I didn't screen the glare from the aluminum dash trim from the camera view, so you get a distracting glare on the windscreen in the video when the sun is at the right angle.
It was a great way to remember the trip without fumbling around and missing everything

A truly awesome weekend with my daughter, even if my butt was numb at the end of it
