Dash Cams

After a brief mishap in which the driver in front pulled up to a complete stop (on a main road for no effing reason) causing a small shunt in our family motor.... I've decided to fit cams to the van and this car...

What recommended cams can anyone suggest as the market is saturated ?
I ideally want to Hard wire it as a permanant fixture....

What type is anyone using ?

Advise please.........

I’ve heard Blackvue are good but I too need to buy a camera for that very reason (hence why I’m on my second Zed) :headbang:

Nextbase 412gw here.

Paid for itself after some tit reversed into me, denied it time and time agai, until I showed her the footage.
Dropped the cash off to the body shop within the week.

Im using the BMW Advanced Eye Dash Cam in both cars - Expensive but they work and as the cars were both in manufactures warranty when the cameras were fitted I decided to err on the side of caution.

The actual impact was I guess no more than 10mph.....enough to cause damage but not enough (IMO) to cause chassis damage and the classic Whiplash as the other driver claimed !!!!!

a dash cam with built in lie detection is what's effing needed..... Now there's a Dragon Dens idea !

I have nextbase 412g in both my cars pleases with their performance did try a blackvue before but had problems with it so gave up on it

Been using a Transcend Pro220 the past 2 years and been pleased with it, not too expensive and decent quality,

It seems to handle contrast well which seems to be the failing with alot of cheaper cams.

Mine's plugged into the 12v socket between the seats with the cable hidden away behind trim and roofliner. unsure why you would want to hardwire one, just seems more hastle to me, especially come removal time.

I use a mini 0906 in my daily. Front and rear 1080p recording.
Its a popular fairly low cost cam (cheaper than most blackvue's) so loads of reviews on youtube:

Blackvue makes of course one a few of the best ones but quite expensive (a good front&back setup is easily over 300)
