dash cam recommendation

Ok so I wonder if any of you can recommend a cheap and cheerful easy to use plug and play sd dash cam whch I can plug into cigar lighter and it has to work with my Mac or ipad
I want to use it in case I'm ever involved in an accident in case I need to use it as evidence or if I leave the car somewhere and it gets dinged and keyed
I've seen ones on eBay and Amazon for 12 quid but I presume they aren't up to much .
How much do you have to spend to get a half decent one which will do the job ?
Do they run on a continuous loop and I presume the duration of recording depends on the size of sd card ,does it automatically wipe the footage and start again - as you can see I havent a scoobie about these devices .
What's the resolution like and do they work in the dark ?
Waht are the pros and cons
Thanks in anticipation .

The one I just posted about comes with a cigarette lights + hard wire kit. That is a Mini 0805, paid £87 for it from a UK supplier as I wanted to avoid a China copy that are advertised all over eBay and Amazon.

Most people on this forum have used the "mini 0803" Pop that in the search and you will find loads.
I'm using a möbius camera, there are plenty of variety depending on what you want from the camera

0805 is the 0803 replacement. Supposed to have better night vision and general improvements.

I've got an 0801 which is one of the earlier cameras, i've been using it for about a year now with no issues. The 0805 is the latest model as pvr has said and comes with some improvements

Here is my 0801 installed on my zed

Read the reviews on Pistonheads, that is where I got it from.

Amazon reviews are often for the Chinese copies - also 0803, not 0805. All very confusing I found, hence buying from a UK supplier that had good reviews.

(Combi UK).

So after doing some homework and reading many reviews I ended up going for the Transcend Drivepro 200 .
It arrived a day after my order to Misco ,and came with two separate mounts ,one sticky and one suction so I can easily move it from my CRV to my M . Instructions were easy to follow (I'm not great with tech stuff to be honest ) and it was simple plug and play . It synchs beautifully to my iPhone or iPad with a near easy to use intuitive app which also updated the firmware and makes downloading files via wireless a doddle .The resolution is incredible and it has also a file lock with a G force sensor which is handy . All in all nice and easy and no hassle .Even came with a 16gB microSD card to save any hassle . Can recommended to anyone who wants a simple to use dash cam which is old man proof . Well pleased .86 squid all incl delivery from Misco ,so not the cheapest but you get what you pay for I suppose .

Mad Professor. Good to know that your pleased with it, i'v been on the brows myself for a while and have tried a few now of the cheaper end, up to
around £35 but been disappointed with the play back of them, and ended up sending them back for refunds. Couldn't find one that
records clear when driving towards bright sunlight, they dimmed down so much you couldn't make out any number plates, how is
that one in sunlight when playing back?

It seemes fine in all levels of light and you can adjust the settings very easily to accomodate using the app . There is a good review on you tube ,check it out where they compare the 100 vs 200 model . To be honest I am quite fussy about tech and this cam didn't dissapoint in any way . I went for the 200 model as its only a few quid more but much better all round and has the wifi which is cool .

Cheers for that.

Wonder if I should get a mixture of cameras to try as I still need a few more.

Hi Professor, Would it be possible to post a pic of the cam in situ - interested to see how the cable runs if it is plug & play? Do you just pull the cable up the dash board or can you hide it from view?
