Dash Cam - Mini 0803, 05 or 06's

A year or so back I bought a E-Prance Mini 0803 Dash Cam, and installed it. ( You may remember my "How to" Post).
It worked fine for about 4-5 months then started glitching. To begin with a few reboots sorted it, then popping the SD card out helped. Eventually I then spoke to the Amazon people from whom we sourced it (via email) and carried out the resets they suggested and it was intermittent for the next 2 months, before it completely gave up the ghost.

At this point I emailed the suppliers again, as it was about 9 months old at this point, only to find my emails returned undelivered and I got a reply saying they were no longer Amazon suppliers !

Now, I have bases installed in my 5 series and my Zed as it was then possible to switch the camera between the two cars. As a result I would like to source another 080x, just to make things easier, but only want to buy one over a counter, so i can take it straight back if I have any problems again.

So in short,
1) Where in the Bristol Area can I buy an 0803, 0805, or 0806 other than on-line? (Halfords don't do them)
2) Is anybody looking to sell on an 080x thats in working order ?
3) Alternatively having just renewed my daily car and knowing I'll have it for another 3-4 years I'm considering perhaps a more complex unit with a glovebox mounted recorder and both Front and Back facing cameras.. Does anyone have an recommendations at this level ?

Feedback appreciated please !

In all honesty I would be looking at another make. I've got the Mini803 not the E-prance one and it started playing up only after a few months in that it keeps freezing emitting a continuous tone and gets very hot. I can't even switch it off and have to leave it until it's battery runs down. Once plugged in again it works OK for a few weeks and then does the same all over again. I don't know if you've noticed the mounting connection with the windscreen mount is very poor and not robust enough. Think I will be looking at other makes sometime soon.

That basically describes what happened to mine. - The very same issues.

I did read up on them before I bought mine and the early ones did suffer from software glitches but thought the model I bought would be OK. I only went for it due to its small size and built in screen which means I can leave it in the car rather than removing the larger types. I might look at the mobious next time or if someone can recommend a small discreet cam.

Im going to get a mobius for my current m135, what something descret which i can forget about.

They seem to have good reviews

Haven't really used mine that much and it is also playing up , last time I used it had an intermittent bonging sound . Need to get it sorted . That looks a good one Jan but seems a little cheap in price which makes me wonder if it is any good . How do you mount it in your car ?

I've had a bracket made which will stick on the rear view mirror. Camera will then be attached with magnets and then I'll run a usb cable to the socket under the glove compartment. Plan is to fit and leave it in permanently so descret is what im after.

I agree with Tim. The two Mini 0805s I has both failed almost straight from the box so I took a refund & went for the Mobius. I'm very pleased with it & like the fact that you can actually replace the battery if you need to or swap the battery for a capacitor.
I bought all my dashcams from Car Camera Shop. They are super helpful & knowledgeable. They gave me refunds on the Minis with no hassle.
