Dash cam issues

Hi all,

I've recently brought an 0805 that i'm having issues with but trying to determine if it's the camera or how I've wired it..

I've basically powered it from one of the interior map lights so I can turn power off at using the light switch but it seems to be causing issues. It appears to be charging but just randomly restarts, records for a few seconds then restarts again.

I'm not sure if it's a power issue or the GPS base issue. Very strange.

Any ideas?
 
Best to power it from the White/purple wire going to the windscreen sensor.

Format the card also in the camera to make sure that's not at fault.
 
are the connections good, is the earth good?

why not feed it direct from the fuse box?
 
I didn't chop into the wires because wanted to use the switch. It could be a ground issue i'll try splicing into the ground wire first. :)
 
So after some more testing, it all works perfectly until the engine is running then the 5v converter starts buzzing :|
