Damper choices?

As the title says, I'm looking at replacing all 4 shocks on my car.
As it's my daily driver I'd rather keep the standard feel to the car so I don't want stiffer or lower suspension.

I'm drawn towards Bilstein B4 shocks as I've had them on other cars with great results, Autodoc are selling a set of 4 for about £330.

I could go for Sachs dampers which are a little cheaper or at the other end of the price scale genuine BMW ones.

Can anyone tell me their experience with the various brands they have bought?

Cheers,

Jim.

Replaced the lot at the start of November with the Bilstein B12 Pro Kit and new top mounts.

Only done around 75 miles since then but it's much better than the almost dead B4's and springs.

Hi Jim
I replaced all 4 shocks with new B4s at the end of September this year and I’m very happy with them. Mine is only a 2.0l 4 pot SE but the ride suites me. They did replace the original leaking shocks so that made a difference.

Hi Cant help on z'd but I have a 325d e91 and specifically bought an SE for ride quality.
Had to replace front shockers for MOT and without experience of anything else went for original Sachs
Use this guys based i Midlands -excellent service and price cheaper than I could find anywhere else- think they are Sachs approved dealer http://autopartstechnik.co.uk/sachs-shock-absorbers.html

I've just put on a set of b4's. More than happy for a daily driver. The roads I typically drive arent great so suit perfectly without being harsh. My original shocks were gone so difficult to judge against oem as new but I don't think you would be disappointed with b4's

Thanks for the suggestions, I've ordered a set of B4 shocks all round. I think they will be fine for my needs, their website says they are a replacement for OEM but also says they are 15% stiffer so should be just what I'm after.

Jim.
