Entering ground floor garage throuigh electric gates, one gate suddenly stopped half open.
There looked like room still to squeeze through, having a neighbour help me guide through.
Nope !!!!!!!!! done this. Hope it buffs out

Ouch! I presume you gave your neighbour a slap? :x
If the panel's not dented, you might get someone like Chipsaway or Dentdevils to sort it without it costing the earth.

Oh phah, that 's not clever. :( Looks a bit much for elbow grease and T cut, but worth a try before you start paying out money.

Slapping an 80 year old lady not an option. :D
No dent so not a biggy. If it does not buff out, i have a brilliant paint shop not far away.

There is no alternative parking around here so wanted to get in and report the gate fault . My error :headbang:

Is it possible to retro fit PDC to the wings

At the risk of sounding heartless; it would be 50/50 for me :D
Is the white from the gate? I was presuming it was primer under the VO

Hope for you sake and your wallets, that it buffs out. Hopefully with a machine polisher it will.

Good luck and lets us know the outcome

That really is a "Damn" moment. :(

I hope getting it sorted doesn't give your wallet too much pain.

I know a shop that will fix it for you. They’ll even test drive it for you. At high speeds too.

Looks like the panel is bent, if not around £200 to spray......

After owning my Z4 for nearly 4 years, I still dont have a good feel for how wide it is or where the end of the nose is and narrow gaps always make me nervous. The parking garage at my apartment is very narrow and even though ive seen X5s go through, Im always very nervous driving through.

Yes exacly Jon,

Been going through these gates for 2 and half years no problem.

From the driver seat i could not beleive the scraping sound, i thought scraping was from underneath.
Wheel arches flare more than you expect/see from drivers seat. :o

It always worries me when I put the car away into the garage. Ive got a double garage but it has a central pillar which Is structural. The entrance to each side is that of a single so not much room for error.
