Damn! Mis-matched rear spings??!!

Having been thinking about a suspension re-fresh/upgrade and installing the Bilstein B12 kit to my Coupe 3.0si SE, which i bought a few months back,i think i will have to sort something out sooner rather than later!!
I have just noticed that the arch gap is greater on the nearside rear , compared to the offside rear. I know from the service history, that the OSR spring was replaced back in 2012 , as it had snapped. This was completed by a Cotswold BMW dealer and i have the invoice for the work.
I think what's happened is they have replaced the OSR spring with an M-Sport spring and not an SE standard spring ,hence why i now have about 15mm difference in height between OSR AND NSR!!

I wonder if anyone can confirm this as i have the part number from the invoice- its ; B33.53.6.760.605

Also, if i do get the B12 kit fitted, with the lower Eibach springs, is it ok in day-to day driving, what with speed-bumps, angled entrances to car parks, etc, etc??
I think the car would look better with this kit and i am sure will improve the drive but, i don't want this to be at the expense of scraped/damaged front from any road that's not arrow straight and level!! Particularly as i have just spent big bucks having the front bumper (and rear) re-sprayed just to remove some minor blemishes!

So, are these lower Eibach springs really ok? Can i stop having nightmares about front end damage??!!

I think you'll find you do have a matched pair of springs and the ride difference has been an often discussed topic in the past on here.

Pretty sure my old car had a 10mm odd difference and the agreed reason had something to do with the car being designed as a left hand drive car with the driver sitting in the opposite seat. This would give different weight distribution in a right drive car and shows up as a ride height difference.

Or it could be a case of another snapped spring as smartbear mentioned.

No, its not that as its the newer spring that sits 15mm lower than the original NSR spring!

Anyone with Eibach springs fitted, can you let me know how you get on with these fitted, re- speed-humps, angled surfaces etc??!!
 
I run the B12 kit with 19" wheels, 8.5j & 9.5j. Although it's not a Coupe, I have no issues with rubbing, speed humps etc. If you are worried about speed bumps, you could look at putting some protectors under the front spoiler?

Thanks, that's good to know. I have the standard 17" wheels at the moment, so it will be a little lower although 225/45 tyres so they are higher profile which might cancel out the wheel size!
