Damn Gear knob!

Sitting on the centre console with the knob against your stomach and pull it that way has always prevented injury as it has no distance to go until it hits your stomach.

This ZHP black leather gear knob is shorter and heavier than the standard gear knob so gives a sportier, more positive short shift feel. It is a 6 speed gear knob with M power logo. This is suitable for the E46 BMW 3 Series models and also the E85 BMW Z4 models.

They are good, but not as good as an illuminated ZHP.

Shorter than the factory knob, weighted and look better.

Ditto, - I have a five speed illuminated for sale :-)
 
ZHP arrived this morning. Used the sitting on console method, roof down, in second gear and off it popped. Another tip - I used a pair of thin rubber gloves which gave me a good grip.
Fitted the new one, seems a lot better and I'll try it out this afternoon. :wink:

I just like the idea of a shorter gear knob. My last car had the m sport gear knob and it just felt so much better. Hmm not sure that sounds right...
 
Does the gaiter boot move at all? Last thing I want to do is wreck that and have to replace it, is it really a pop off pop on job for everyone? I'm in an e85 5 speed by the way.
