Wondered if any E89 rocket scientists could tell me what I've done and how to fix it...

On the run today on a high G dip there was a graunching sound from under the car...

A bit later when the car was turning especially over a bump there was a nasty rubbing sound.

On investigation there is a twisted piece of plastic between the front of the rear wheel well and the wheel.

On the other side there looks like a small mudflap forward of the rear wheel...

My questions are:

What is it called exactly...so I can order a spare...

Does anybody have a diagram /photo of how it is supposed to look?

I know I can jack the car up and look at the other side but it's dark, wet and cold at the moment..

It just unscrews as the offside one has to be dropped to get at the brake wear sensor cable plug.

part 8

You may also have damaged part 6 as that seems too be made of cardboard? (OK compressed fibre).

Thank you for your prompt response...I'll have a look in daylight and advise....

Is there any alternative to buying these at list price through BMW?

I know faster moving parts are available through other sources but not so sure about these?

Better value than your local bmw dealer? That's pretty poor imho
I only have to ask nicely & our local dealer offers 10% discount

Hi smartbear. Maybe you could ask your pals for their best quote for those two items plus 4 screws?

Thnx
