Damaged my Z4 and 525i - BMW body shop or generic place??

Wow - that place sounds bad. :thumbsdown:

I haven't had to have any major body work done in a while, but every time I've needed a car repaired after an incident, the insurance company has let me choose the shop I wanted. My dealer doesn't do body work so they recommended a place that does the repairs for all the BMW/Merc/Jags around my area.
 
I have found over the years that the "generic" shops do a better job. These guys have to fight for their livilihoods every day. the mechanics at the dealers just work by the hour and don't have any reason to do a good job.

This isn't BMW specific.

As a matter of fact the only BMW dealer in New Orleans doesn't have a body shop the contract their work out to shops in their neighborhood.
