Damage to runflats?

Hi all-would a 2 inch high length of wood across full motorway lane cause any damage to runflats at 50mph?-I hit it with both front and rears at the same time-so did not jolt steering wheel-fine when back up to 70 after with no steering wheel vibration or warning lights-thanks

Well I hope not, but I hit a pothole that was about the same depth, and thought all was well, but noticed an egg developing in the sidewall a few days later and the garage confirmed a flat spot on the alloy when it was up on the ramp

Cheers was that with runflats?

You cannot tell if there is internal damage but as a minimum I'd want a good look at the inner and outer walls of the tyres and the rims to see if there is any obvious damage.

At least with run flats if one does fail you'll not have a disaster

Yes it was ...

Had something similar a year ago, MOT found a cricket ball sized bulge on the inside wall of the front tyre. :headbang:
Needless to say it was replaced pronto.
Make sure you give everything a thorough checking over.
