So latest news is BTP passed the case to Notts Police who are very interested in the case - if we can get a numberplate off the CCTV then they will prosecute for leaving the scene. 
Damage claims, as expected, would have to be pursued through the insurance company.
NCP have been in contact today to assure me they have started reviewing the footage. I've also let them know that Notts Police are interested in any information.
Only problem I had today was having to drive to Newark to show my car & insurance docs, as this is now classed as a Road Traffic Incident - and I couldn't take the roadster as it is resting this week, taking a stress-break :zzzz:
