We use the zed 4 as a weekend drive somewhere car for coffee and fun. It gets used top down everyday if possible but not for daily type runs i.e. work. Again fun drive and coffee and cake trips out to the moors. Only gets about 4000 miles a year and as it is only a 2.2 I'm not worried about it losing resale value if the mileage does increase as it probably will never be a sort after classic like the 3 litres will be.

I feel the categories are too narrow. Can I have "Works Van"?

(Somewhere I've got a picture with tools plus a set of ramps in the boot. Very capacious car.)

The wife's E89 is her work car and our daily driver with 55k on the clock
My E86 COUPE is my Boys Toy so just used at weekends or special events with 102k on the clock

Voted for boys toy. I drive mine as a daily, weather permitting, during those four nice summer months we get, but have a daily as a backup. With the zed aging (as well as myself), tend to use the daily, which is a more relaxing cruiser, for longer trips as well. Sigh…

When I bought mine it was to be used as a daily; I sold my 6 series and switched to an E85. Then I bought a V60 in 2019 and daily duties were split in half, and the Z got a lot more use in the summer compared to the winter as you’d expect. Now the V60 is gone but I’m working overseas so the Z is in storage, so not being used at all :( coming back to the UK for a few weeks in July however so my dad is busy servicing and mot’img it for me so I can get a few uses out of it.

Can I vote both? Always have at least one E85 I use as a daily, plus wifey’s daily E85, but have a low mileage VO E89 which is very much a summer weekend car.

But you are quite a special case, in a positive way I might add
Mines a daily driver, about 16,000 miles a year, in another two years I’m contemplating getting a manual e85 3.0si for the fun and UK holidays and get a more practical car/SUV to do the daily miles in as my 88 yr old mum finds ingress/egress rather difficult in a two seater convertible

When my mum was alive at 82 years old she had trouble getting and out of my Zafira. I think your mum is doing really well at 88.

Bought mine new Sept ‘16 and used exclusively as a (old) boys toy. Hence only 16,800 miles to date.
It goes into hibernation October and wakes up April / May

Bought it about 18 months ago and have done 30.000km with it since. I use it year-round but the short runs and parts hauls are reserved for the Alfa, so I do make sure to only use it on drives where the straight six gets up to temp properly :driving:

Fair weather use only for me.

Not bothered about the weather, but the wife's MC has seen little use since we got the dog. I probably do more miles on the bike than she does in her Z.

She still won't sell it though, not even with £700 a year VED. Which is a shame as I quite like the new manual Zupr4.
