(sorry for pic quality, taken from across the road upstairs window zoomed in and cropped (so as not to advertise))

Stuart

I think all this did for me was generate interest.. im now interested to know why you posted a picture of your numberplate rather than the rest of the van (usually people are weirdly obsessed with hiding reg plates online)? What did you want to not advertise... your neighbours house, your offlice location, your van branding? :D

Hmmm all of the above but mostly the branding

An E93 M3 Convertible - literally drinks £££££££££££££££
That was one of the reasons I got rid of my E92 M3 as my daily as it drank like a fish and was hard to drive slow because I always wanted to chase the 8400rpm redline, although when I used my X5 4.8is as my daily that just drank like a fish going fast or slow and it was just madness.

I wished I lived in America :D

Lee the 640d can't be much better surely :P?
It does 40/41 mpg which is excellent for a car that does 0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds weighs 1800kg and handles like a boat!

I used to get 12 mpg from the X5 on my commute and around 17/18 mpg out of the M3 and I miss the V8 noise and smoothness of those two for sure 8)

I am envious because you get to enjoy that lovely V8 petrol in yours  we have done 37k miles in the 640d since November 2014 and that's the main decision to run a noisy oil burner instead of a sweet and smooth petrol. :)

I'll certainly tip my hat to that MPG!

I managed 29 today on a 53 mile motorway run but I was doing about 60 all the way!
I certainly do get the V8 noise, specially with the Milltek setup, shout if you're ever London way and can come re-live the V8 fun!

I am envious of your fuel economy from such a barge though, I'm usually getting 21ish :<
Regardless of being a noisy oil burner the 6 series is a lovely car

Ruby has dubbed the S5 'the submarine' because it's a boat apparently too!

Cheers Disca

I did really enjoy the clips you put up of the Miltek 8) and there is just something so lovely about a V8 and I have always been hooked on them, really chuffed that you are enjoying yours :)

35iS Had to go - Just wasn't using it enough.

It's replacement is a much more usable beast.

For a diesel it's almost as surprising to me as the DCT was in the 35iS :D

Well I need to update this.........as of Saturday as well as the Z4 and the R32 GTR I will be driving a 4.2 S/C V8 L320 (that's a Range Rover Sport for those who don't eat production codes and speak in plain English)

It was a compromise vehicle choice........scratches his V8 itch but I'm sure it'll just increase it and means I get something a bit more 'practical' for IKEA trips  and it'll stop my Dad taking the pi$$ about dolls house furniture.

Hopefully it will be.......it better be! Luckily for me the previous owner had a new 'performance' exhaust installed to give a really nice V8 noise. So that's saved some pennies right there.

Just have a trek to Essex on Saturday and have a 330 odd mile journey back............the V Power points card won't know what's going on, it's used 'occasionally'

It will get through some fuel I would imagine and I talked my Dad out of buying that model because I shared my fuel cost experience of my V8 X5 with him so he opted for a diesel instead.

It will sound immense with that exhaust on it for sure 8) I love the full fat models :D

If I was needing it to go miles then it wouldn't be my car of choice but we are used to the low mpg figures. Watch this, I'll use it more than I expect.

Insurance company mirrored my NCB so it's pretty 'cheap' to insure too.

Now to find some tunnels

It does most things really well

As a daily driver (for use in Aberdeenshire) it's, so far, pretty much the perfect package :driving:

Gone but not forgotten: SX4 - 2.0l, very 'peppy' (the later models with the CVT transmissions were rubbish) and heaps of fun. This was the 2WD version with ESP, more useful than 4WD for the driving we normally do.
