I'm about to push the button on the above car and was wondering if anyone on here knew anything about them? Things to look for etc? :?

It's a 2001, 306 Meridian 2.0 HDI 3 door on 57K.

Also the car i'm about to buy will need a cambelt service. All of my previous cars have been chain driven, so i'm not familiar with the costs....what should I expect it to cost and can someone recommend a garage in the Bristol/Filton/Bath area?

Cheers,

Change the crankshaft pulley when you change the cambelt and tensioners. They have a tendency to disintegrate and wreck the engine.

Other than that a 306 is a good little car that shouldn't give you too much hassle and over 50mpg!

Got a mate of mine who drives a 306 HDI as the family's second car and has few issues with it ...was in it last weekend and I still really like them ... had a 306 XSI for a while and really liked it

Well, I tootled along and bought it yesterday. Not a bad looker for a bag o sand.

same colour as my xsi.... it is one of the run out models when they all came (irrespective of model) with the GTI-6 body kit on them .... downside for me was xsi looked just like the HDI.

always liked the shape of the 306

thats the same colour as the 206GTi I had... bet that's a better drive though...
