My daily driver is a 12 year old Skoda Octavia TDI estate. Its only done 100k miles so nearly run in. My Dad bought it new and I bought it from him 5 years ago. I do about 5k a year in it and 4k in the Z but I am overseas for about 6 months of the year. I've been to the alps skiing in it several times and it tows a 1250kg boat 4 times a week in the summer and it is still to break down since new. MPG with the boat on the back is about the same as the Z solo!
This summer...mostly my Z3 and the Z4 once in a while. last summer, the Z4 every day. About 10000 miles ,
Winter.... Chev pickup 4x4. Another 10000 miles
I do most of my miles on a train to London, but I don't get to drive that. Family wagon is a Touareg - Zed is new to me (week 4) but aim to do as many miles as possible, with at least 25% sideways if I can!!
Z4MR is daily drive. I'll probably put about 12k on it per year. Mine is probably one of the highest mileage ///M's around...should hit 70k next month but it drives like new. Mostly motorway miles under it's belt so I suppose that helps. I plan on keeping it for a while so should see it hit 100k within the next 3 years....hopefully!
VW Bora 1.9TDI for work, about 18K a year, Z4 for weekends and sunny evenings out to the pub. The the real speed come in when I get the Ducati out to play
Bought a C2 HDi to ease off the mileage. In the month I had it, I averaged 75mpg, topping 81! Perfect!
Then some utter twunt on a motorbike decided they wanted to go 75+mph round a corner, overtaking 5 cars at the same time, overcooked it and hit me head on (120+ mph combined). Miraculously he was only bruised. Insurance offered me ~£1k more than I paid for it as a write off though which is nice
Now looking at an Audi A2 TDi as the second car idea was truly sold! A little runabout really does make the Zed feel a lot more special.
