Daft Question 12v cigarette lighter.

Upon finding a screw through the side wall of my rear tyre giving me a slow puncture, I've learnt that my 12v power supply isn't working so won't power my compressor.

What's the best fix for the 12v power? Does the unit need replacing and what is the best source?

It's a bit hairy running about with a known tyre issue and having no pump.

New tyre arrives Monday and barely used rear tyre gets binned :(
 
I replaced both the fuse and the actual socket, after changing the fuse didn't fix it.

The new socket blew the fuse after a few months, so changed the fuse again and it works fine now.

I bought the socket from bmw for about 20 quid.
 
You guys :)

Nipped to Halfords for fuse puller and box of spares. Whipped first fuse out after deciphering hyroglyphics of fuse map. Swapped the 15 and everything is working.
