My daughter just sent me an email saying how she was really enjoying highway 1 on her road trip in California. She also enquired how was I doing, decorating her apartment while she is away. Love her really!

Highway 1. Fabulous drive esp N-S (sea on your right, best views)

Done it several times now, going again in Feb

Yep, done it a couple of times. Some of those cliff top bends north of San Francisco gave me the willies though. South of Frisco around Carmel and Big Sur was the best.

Go ahead, rub it in! I wonder if you have also painted your daughter's apartment.

haha, no flat, but she's just started at Uni so I'm broke for at least three (or more) years... :-(

My daughter took herself off to Vancouver 9 years ago and never came home. No decorating houses, no fixing cars etc - that's the way to do it. There's just the son to contend with, I'm helping him decorate his living room next week, we look after his dog a lot and a few months ago I had his Fireblade here doing a mini restoration it ....... Wonder if he fancies a free flight to Vancouver?

s**t! Just realised he comes on here! :D We love 'em both really.

+1, done it a couple times when I've been over there on business, so all it cost me was the fuel for the hire car :)

Oh yes, forgot the 17 mile drive, how could I. Marvellous.

We had a beer in the Hog's Breath Inn in Carmel, which was owned by Clint Eastwood at the time. He didn't show up!

Once the lottery win is banked there'll be a house in Carmel and membership of Pebble Beach golf club. Best place in the world (that I have seen so far).
