DAB aeriel installation

Hi everyone.
I have just fitted a pioneer DAB stereo in my 2007 Z4. I am now trying to decide which Ariel would be best and need to know if my current OEM Ariel is amplified? The factory head unit I replaced is the BMW Business CD without DSP.
Many thanks for any help.
Tom.

Thanks for the replies.
I have previously had a windscreen mounted aeriel on another car and it worked great. I am just concerned that I may break something trying to remove the A pillar. I was looking to use a FM/DAB combined aerial connector with my OEM Ariel depending on whether it is amplified or not. We are fortunate to have a good dab reception in my area, so I think the OEM aerial would be ok.
Thanks, Tom.

The original OEM aerial will NOT work with DAB as it has an integrated amplifier / filter in the base of the aerial. You will need to buy a dedicated DAB aerial so just make sure you buy an amplified one and turn on power to it in the head unit settings.

I’ve done two BMW/Mini oem DAB retrofits and a pioneer head unit into my coupe using the stick on windscreen type of DAB aerial and they’re all worked great.

I've just fitted a Kenwood unit and screen mounted DAB aerial, and had the same concern about removing the A pillar trim. But all done without a problem :D
Just make sure you remove both sunvisors to release the headrail trim fully; then pull the A pillar trim upwards along its axis and you won't have a problem.

Thanks guys,
if the OEM aerial is amplified I won't be going down that route . I will probably have a bash at removing the A pillar trim and fitting a amplified windscreen aerial, knowing I have had good results with this set up in the past.
Thanks for your help.
Tom.
