DA Polisher and Kit

I used to work in quality control in a paint shop & could tell fairly accurately the paint thickness in microns just by looking at it, we had a proper electronic gauge but after a while it was only used occasionally

Now that's a skill!
And a skill I wish ida had early on in my nuclear engineering career when my then-boss shamed me into appreciating the importance of being accurate.
When he asked for a dimension on something I was designing for MOX/Sellafield at the time I said 'It's aroundabout 2.5mm at that point'.
To which he retorted 'We don't do aroundabout fookin anythin 'ere young man, we're fookin nuclear. Do you know what that fookin means?? We're micron fookin tolerances lad, microns!!'
I wish the ground would have swallowed me up!

I use a meguires da with hex pads & ultimate compound polish, it seems to work well but that’s the limit of my experience

I will second that. Very good kit😉👍

Went for the DAS-6 Pro kit on Clean Your Car, in the end. £150 delivered with a couple of pads, Megs compound/polish and carry bag. Should be good to start off with.
