Man I'd be p&ssed!!

Needs heat and reforming then spray blow in by look of it :(

Ref noise I'd take to another garage for second opinion then stop using one you are!

Possibly not tightened bolts on mounts hence knocking

Take to another garage buddy

They'll probably say that damage was there when you brought it in, as you"ve driven away from the garage.

It's a shame, but that's how some places work.

That's really s**t hope you get it sorted.
Is your car lowered?

The grumbling from central tunnel could be loose or broken exhaust clamps, I get a little bit of grumble on startup will get it seen to at upcoming insp2.

Btw, did you get them to check over the car when you handed it over? I'm thinking because of the increase in mistreatment of cars by garages that you almost need to get them to sign for the car and mileage reading when you drop it off, else they might not take responsibility for any possible damage. Especially stuff like kerbed alloys which is easy to do if they're not careful.

This is good advice.

I always do a walk-around with the service representative when I drop my cars in and get them to note on the booking-in sheet that there's no damage to bodywork or wheels. I also let them know that I have a journey data logger and hard-wired camera installed so, should there be any need for a testdrive, I'll know if the car's been treated anything other than sympathetically

I would demand a repair until blue in the face. That type of damage is big enough to warrant a repair (a small scratch might not be worth the hassle but that is).

I usually take pictures of my car all around while parked up at the garage for exactly these reasons.

Flip to the upside of this, maybe use this as an opportunity/excuse to get a front end respray....

This is turning out well.

I've learnt over the years that I inspect my cars before leaving at a garage and get them to agree there is no damage. I always check it again when collecting.

Where I do sympathise with garages [and I'm not referring to this ding] is that folks drop off cars and then cry about all sorts of damage that could have been done at any time. We just tend to notice it later.

I have friends running a garage and tyre shop that get this endlessly. Chips, scratches, dents, etc. As one says - customers must assume we crash of kick every car as a habit...

Accidents happen, how they are dealt with is what matters, assuming they don't happen frequently in the first place.

I don't think you would insult the mechanic, in fact you protect both parties in taking the mechanic around the car to check condition before starting any work. In your situation he has every right to turnaround and say you may have caused this damage after you left the garage. So pre check and check on collection is important.

Well done getting it sorted out!

A friend had an M5 with a perfect set of alloys on it, yet on servicing by Park Lane BMW, they kerbed one of the rears so bad, the tyre was also torn in places!

He had to get medieval on them, but it was sorted in the end.

Those fangs on the Z4 are such a pain. I've had to have mine repaired once already. At the last MOT, the tester parked the car so close to the kerb it looked like it had touched. But there was a paper thin gap luckily!

A damm nuisance for a small bit of styling tbh!
