Hello Guys. So I have a small oil leak from the cover gasket so I need to replace it. I have already researched the forum, looked at the 2 dudes from the USA on youtube. has anyone on the forum done this job. If so where did you get the parts because I need them delivered to France. The local BMW stealer will be too expensive. Somebody on here mentioned to change the bolt O rings as well. I have put a link to the gasket set that I think is the right part. By bolt O rings do you think it means the other gasket parts in the middle of the main cover gasket.

If anyone has anything to add I would be glad to here from you.

Cheers

Paul

I did the job a few months ago, it's easy, you just need number 16, the main gasket and the 2 small ones that go round the spark plug holes. get it from the dealer, you don't want to do the job twice.

Remove, clean the mating faces with brake cleaner, pop gaskets into the cover, apple a small amount of silicon gasket to the half moons and refit. Tighten the bolts until they stop.

Approx 1 hours work

Thanks Mr Nurburgring for coming back too me. I'm new to the Z but I'm pretty handy with the tools.
Just gives you a bit of confidence when someone else has done it. Cheers.

Where abouts is your leak when looking at the engine from in front of the car?

I'm 99% sure this is the cause of my oil leak, but can't actually see anything leaking.
