Cycling

Definitely seems a common theme this cycling lark. I mainly ride a Giant road bike to and from work and in some of the "Sportive" rides that run from April to October. I clocked 5,000 miles last year nearly the same as my car, but I have to say the Zed does make me smile more!

I stopped peddling when I got my first motorbike (50cc moped) and havnt looked back.
Going back on a pushy would be like going back to a Vauxhall Nova... its a backwards step.
I sat on my wifes pushy once to check I had put enough air in the tyres, wouldnt know what to do with the gears nowadays.

I've had a hybrid bike for short commutes and urban cycling for a few years, got a road bike last year and occasionally commuted the 20 miles to my previous job over the summer - now work a mile away so bus/walk/hybrid instead. Usually manage an hour or so on the road bike at the weekends, aiming to get more and longer rides in this year and maybe get involved in something a bit more organised.

MTBing for the last 20 odd years and currently ride a 2011 Orange Crush hardtail I managed to get through cycle to work scheme a few years ago! Haven't been out much since becoming a father, but the lure and opportunity is increasing every weekend. Took it out last year for the first time in two years and ended up doing 30 miles of Thames Path. Hardly North Wales, but it got the limbs working overtime again :)

I miss having decent cycle routes around where I live

When I am back in NL, I always love renting a bike as it is so much better catered for it there obviously, and it does not feel like a suicide mission.

I cycle every day to work and come rain or shine, sleet or snow, frost or flood I'm can be seen in my shorts.....People at work think I'm crazy. Had to scrape frozen slush off my shins this morning.....not fun with hairy legs....

I have a Specialized A1 Comp circa 2002ish...it's a bit like Trigger's brush...the only thing left of the original bike is the frame.....

Also have an On-One Inbred for best off roading, a Carrera Subway converted to single speed, a Hoffman BMX for tooling around on( of which my missus says I'm too old and fat for!!) and a MTB I built up from bits I had gathered and from the Interweb(which my daughter has claimed).

Rib me for no pics if you like, I will put some up soon......I promise.
