Cycle Carrier

Anybody recommend a good cycle carrier for the Z4?

Not something I really want to do, but if I cant use the wifes MPV (minivan for our friends over the pond) then the safest way of carrying without damage to the Z4 is the priority.

And if anybody wants to sponser me for the 54 mile London to Brighton Bike ride in June just let me know :D

If your going to use it often, i recommend having a tow-hitch mouted on the car then you will have several choices of racks that wont damage the car (paint), ive used the type that mount on the trunk with success, but you have to be careful that the tires dont hit the car...

X2 on the trailer hitch idea - and then get a Rack and Roll trailer. Takes any flavor of roof rack appendages so you could even carry a kayak if you were so inclined.

See this post I started a while back for hitch options. http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1171

Also, I know the Saris guys (they make the bones rack) very well as I used to live across the street and ride with them. They won't recommend that you use it on the Z4. However, I have tested it on my Z4 (and by test, I mean I've put it on, but not with a bike) and it seems like a great fit. I couldn't make it budge by tugging on it. Honestly, I was very surprised the didn't approve this rack for the Z4. But then again, they have lawyers to worry about. I have tons of pics of a Bones rack on my Z4 if you're intested. Just PM me.

Personally, I'd worry about my finish with any trunck rack. So I went with a custom hitch option. But if I were to put on a trunk rack, it'd be the Bones.
