Custom Z4 Gear knob by Storm

I knew it wouldn't fot forst time!

Bet your getting some collars made to support the new handle and i bet the button didn't work first too..... Its just some R&D and hopefully it will be perfect when done.

I would want it as near to perfect fitting before i jumped. Photos on the Material cover on the new handle would be good.

Keep up the good work.

Cheers

Totally mate.
Just the wee notches right at the bottom. It just needs 2 2-4 mm cuts on the inside to allow it to slip over the notches and thats it. Fitted perfectly otherwise - and so did the button!! Looked great though. pics to follow soon ish. (Next week?)
R.

Sounds a result then. The company are great the time a dealt with them. Im actually ishing to get one now!

Cheers

i got one similar from US, auto(something) for the TT.

I ordered the Stainless Steel, which has a more silvery look to it.
I think your choice of stainless is the better one as it can be easily changed/refinished (bright, matte, satin) as the surface picks up imperfections from use unlike the Ti which is only a coating. The silver/white color also goes better with the aluminium trim and accents the black nicely. Can't see why the stainless models would take so long to ship, much less involved in the manufacturing process.

Got My Stainless Gear Knob next day when i order last year.............. Top company there must be a reason it too so long and being in engineering its not the mod or making any of it or the cnc programme.......

Has Bilal set up to produce Z4 handbrakes yet? when I contacted him a few weeks ago he said it would be a while before they would be on sale, something about machining 2 notches for the Z4 as opposed to the E46 version.

Out of curiosity, how many of you Storm knob owners had tried the OEM ZHP weighted short shift knob and still feel that Storm knob is better?

I had the Whalen shift knob for a short time. It was nice & better than the stock one in my Z4M. But the ZHP knob I have now beats it by a mile. It's wrapped in nappa leather that matches the Z4M's interior (the Whalen knob always got pretty hot after sitting in the sun), fairly cheap, and really makes a world of difference. The stock rubbery feel is gone and now shifting is much more precise & mechanical.
