Custom Sat nav update

For anyone looking for a phone/bluetooth/ music / satnav solution i would recommend the Garmin Drivesmart 65 with Alexa.
Been running it for a few weeks now and its the best £280 i've every spent on a gadget.

I did have the full BMW professional sat nav (E85) but the screen case broke so i looked for an up to date alternative.

As well as being a VERY good sat nav the Garmin, if plugged into the aux will give you full bluetooth music, phone calls, text notifications, and 40 millions songs via Alexa. (Assuming you have an account) It also offers full voice control, for both Alexa and Garmin directions. And this even works at 70mph with the top down.

I'm impressed to say the least. Ok its not orginal equipment but it certainly beats the 15 year old sat nav and i can live without the fuel computer and DSP equalizer settings, so for me its a win win. All i need to do now is make a cover to try and integrate the look

For that price you could have got a Pioneer stereo complete with Apple Carplay / Android Auto :?

I know many have done it but I really dont like the look of single din stereos in the Z. Plus i have dsp stereo so they dont inegrate with the DSP amp without major surgery.

Well i finally finished my custom Sat nav install.... all trimmed up and fitted, and very please with the outcome..

10 times better sat nav, Bluetooth calls, Voice or touch control and Alexa controlled music :)

what do you think??

Daft question at this time of year..how sunlight readable is it..I find quite a few of these devices are great in a tin box but with the lid down either wash out in sunlight and/or have terrible reflections?

Speed camera database?

Its very good in sunlight...not 100% but the best I've seen. And yes it has free lifetime speed camera updates as well as lifetime map updates.
