Custom retrimmed M Sport seats

I picked a pair of pretty ropey M Sport seats up earlier this year and I've finally got round to trimming them up.

Gone for something a little different to the factory finish too...

They're hard work to do but ultimately worth it, I think. I can't say how much they cost me as I did the work myself, but I've used high quality leather and that in itself wasn't cheap!

You just need to do a matching dash wrap now (in 2 tone leather) :evil: :fuelfire:
 
Thanks, guys. I've been doing this nonsense for 11 years almost but it's still incredibly satisfying to get to the end of a job and be pleased with the final product.

Another job ticked off the list for my Zed!

Not that this is a fetish of mine :exitright: but I would love to smell those seats. They look stunning along with great craftmanship and the quality of the leather shows (for me) in the second last picture. Just how do you parallel stitch which I am guessing is a manual process? :thumbsup: Edit - BTW lets get something straight, I do not go around smelling seats! ok, where is the smilie for digging a hole = oh, this is close :chophead:

Yeah, that didn't sound weird at all.... :? :lol:

The French seam (the parallel stitching) is manual, albeit done on an industrial sewing machine. Some people use a twin needle machine but I have a single needle machine that does everything I need it to, so I need to have steady hands and eyes to make sure the two lines remain level, both to each other and to the seam they're flanking!

I suppose the question is... would you take on a commission to do this for someone else, and at roughly what sort of cost?

This is my livelihood so yes, I'm always open to potential new work. :)

For a pair of M seats in a good quality (but not top quality) leather, it'd be around the ยฃ800 mark.

They do smell divine, I must admit...!

I'm fairly confident that I know where to source Amarone leather by the hide, so it's certainly an option. :thumbsup:
