Custom Made Coffee Table

Wow that is a cool idea.

I'd personally get a beach scene.. With calming waves... And a setting sun... And a few cheeky ladies in bikini, discretely placed where i only knew where  8)

Thanks for all the ideas guys. If a few are interested then maybe we can look into a group buy? PM me if you are.

This is where I'm getting it from...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RETRO-DESIGNER-COFFEE-TABLE-LARGE-110cm-NEW-MODERN-FURNITURE-/220868267073?pt=UK_Home_Garden_LivingRoomFurniture_EH&var=&hash=item336cc64c41

When I spoke to them they said the price will probably be around the same as the ones they already sell, so somewhere between £185-£225 depending on what size you want and if you want the legs or not.

I'm now thinking of doing a collage. I've managed to download all my FB pictures and put them into a massive collage. If i went with this option do you guys think I should put the print on top (if they can do it) or still on the inside?

What do you guys think of this option?

Hi Peddy

That's a great price for a unique piece of furniture.

The FB pictures sounds a good idea if that's what you want.
Are there too many small individual pictures in your collage and will the faces end up being pixelated and indistinguishable?
Not an expert but on printing but there'll be DPI/PPI to consider I guess?

My preference would be to have the pics on the inside of the table.

My only thought on using pics is in a few years time they will be out of date so to speak and you cant update it, like when you have kids/kids growing up etc

I agree with this - in fact said it to Mrs B before I had read down. I like the DNA suggestion, very original, or actually Woots' Banksy art idea. You may have received his one piece of genius for 2013 there :D

I like those. nice table,

My partner suggests a night sky to match the trekkie design theme.
or a reef scene/snake pit

mine
tarmac yellow lines etc, there.'s a bloke that does some arty prints that I bumped into in a gallery a while back who may provide an image/idea. I will see if I can find a reference.

inside print I think. Rothko?

I like the collage option... as for it going out of date... are you likely to still have the table in 10+ years time? I know in my house a coffee table would be knackered after 10 years.

I have a similar collage wall print that my other half made for me when my dog passed away. Lots of little snapshots of the dogs life from a puppy to being an old gal. Great idea.

Well the picture will be at least 12000x2500 and the company will require an image to be 200cm x 450cm or about 79" x 177" making it around 5000 PPI. Anyways, they said we will let you know if it's pixelated or has any issues.

For that price, I'm happy to change it every 5 or so years. :)

I know you said no cars but what about a blue table with some white bonnet go faster stripes going around it? Or use the gulf or martini racing livery?
