Custom exhaust?

Has anyone had a custom exhaust fitted to a 3.0L?

or...

Does the 3.0L have a centre silencer before the backbox? If so has anyone removed this for a straight pipe?

Basically thinking I'd like a little more grunt, as its only noisy when above 4k revs... would like more of a rumble at lower speed, but nothing vauxhall corsa sporting a dustbin-ish!

Thanks

Paul

Yes - read my write up on quad conversion, but I went way over the top compared with what you'd expect to do...

Te Zed has precats at the front, main cats in the middle a small resonator 3/4 way back and a single large back box.

There are many options but frankly most just replace cat back and a single different box, with some dropping to single pipe and back to dual as a balancer. Most of these backboxes make more noise although performance is debatable.

I'd like a quad conversion, but that'd be too expensive right now, so would be happy with maybe new tips (twin slash-cut maybe) and removal of some silencer/baffles to increase growl (I'm sure my mate's 350Z has more growl at low revs :o although I have only heard mine from inside :driving: )

I run a full Miltek system on my 3.0 (2004) with 100 cell racing cats. it sounds loverly, but at 2000 rpm inside the car it is boomy.

however a full chat its awesome!

many many enthuisasts have commented on how good my pipes sound on the move.

great sound from that V10.
i like the hoarse sound from the exhaust, thats a killer.
my stock 3.0si does that sometimes when reving to 4000-5000 and taking the leg off the throttle at once.

i will also like more hoarse sound from the baby. are those sterbo/eisenmann exhaust and others any good?
