Current fuel prices !!

Evening all ,
Does anyone have an answer to the current fuel prices . Since the current crisis started the cost of fuel has rocketed, I have just fuelled up using v power and I’ve paid £1.59 per litre.
As far as I am aware there is no issue regarding fuel reserves and the government has gone on record stating as much, the issue was solely with folks panicking which led to re supply issues. I would like to know then why the huge rise ?. My guess is profiteering by the oil companies. I am a novice in this area , but I am willing to be enlightened!!

Perhaps some profiteering, but oil prices have risen because of demand and the natural gas shortages, some are stating that Brent Crude could top $100 a barrel by year end if things don’t improve and production does not keep pace. Brent currently sits at $84 per barrel.

The good news is that there will be plenty of new major projects in the oil and gas industry, great time to buy an electric car

Shell, Esso, BP have always charged a crazy premium for their Super-plus fuel.

I filled up on Sunday with Tesco Momentum and it was £1.419 per litre. :D

If only Lidl did fuel, eh? I reckon it would be about 78p/litre for 'bargain unleaded' (38 RON) and 99p/ litre for 'specially selected' unleaded (96 RON).
And every third Thursday you could buy it in the middle aisle for about 20p a barrel. Bring your own jerry cans, though :)

Too right - that would be great!

But we can live in hope - my local one has installed a couple of charging points for EVs.

Not expensive enough as the idiots still queue up to buy it. I had expected that the price rise would have cut demand by now and we could finally move on the roads again. Wonder what the magic figure is when the driving reduces for some.

Surely there is no magic figure as we all need to buy fuel, we will all pay whatever the dictated cost is. Up in gods own country :poke: fuel has been fine now for a couple of weeks.

The fuel thing is nothing. Just wait to see what a turkey is gonna cost this Christmas, if you can get one.
Luckily I pre-empted the situation and bought a small turkey chick back in March. Only problem now is there's no f*cker to slaughter it. It is illegal to do it yourself, BTW. :o
I was going to eat a lorry driver, but they are now officially a protected species. (tend to be very fatty too) :)

Round here there are no questions and petrol was £1.30 a litre for normal stuff on the weekend for the Corsa so it has risen by 2p a litre.

Lidl and petrol, would be interesting, would be some spurious brand like goslow to make it go further

I know. "Westminster Refined" would be a great name for Lidl petrol (in my small mind). :D
I should have been in marketing, not whatever it is I do for beans :(

Latest Wheeler Dealer episode was a 1976 Mark 2 Jag. It has twin 57 litre tanks, a mere £181 to fill those at £1.59 a go  … plus a few quid for lead replacement additive.

I think it's clear now that the only queues for petrol are in London and the home counties, is that because they are mostly occupied by inbred ingrates (PVR and other Z4-Forum members excluded of course).

More like Westminster defined - the ultimate ripoff or two tax gogo juice

It's really not that hard to do Pondrew.

I grew up in a farm and we used to do 20-30 for Xmas.

I am sure there are videos out there that will show you how to slaughter and pluck it. String it up 1st and you be reet.

PS. I don't think it's illegal?

Even more painful when you realise it'll only manage about 16mpg

Definitely not illegal, silly city folk :poke:

I get my fuel at Costco, usually comes in 5-8p/l cheaper than even tesco fuel
