Happy Christmas Eve you wonderful people!! I had the bulb out warning light come on yesterday but only when I had the lights set to low beam, not when they were on auto.

I haven’t checked all the lights yet but would there be a light that gets switched on in low beam but not auto?

Merry xmas (eve) to you too.
If there isn't a bulb out, I would check the electrical connectors to all the exterior lights for a dodgy contact or damp/ corrosion. I had this issue on my E92. The bulb warning light would come on randomly with all bulbs good. Found a very slightly damp connector to one of the headlights in the end.

The system has a cold check (off) as well as a hot check (on), so it will still pick up on a blown bulb regardless of whether the light is on or off.

Thanks both, the driver side low beam is now intermittently not switching on. My layman’s brain suggests that isn’t the bulb, surely it would be blown or not blown?

Swap the bulbs over between the lights, if the fault moves sides then it’s the bulb, if it stays as it was then you have another problem.
