I'm looking for cup holders, the only thing I can come up with is the "Ultimate cup holder". Also up to making my own. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks , Mike.

Do you mean part no. 51457070323 and 51457070324 ? Plenty of “OEM quality” on fleabay from around £50 per pair.

Even better, the price for BMW ones is outrageous tbh

Mine doesn’t have cup holders, we’re they optional items?

There are just blanking covers under the air vents.

Yes, optional. They are easy to fit and and a cost effective way to elevate your car from poverty spec (or just no cup holders). Not everyone is a fan though.

Yup, wifey's was like that. She NEEDED them ASAP.
I got the Amazon copies. Ten minutes per side to fit. Work perfectly.
Apart from me showing how they work, not been used in 6 months!

Mines an SE, so guess surprising it doesn’t have them as standard, but not sure I can be arsed it getting some as not sure they would really be used either. :D

Thank you for the feedback, there is a company in the US called the ultimate cup holder. Made of SS, unbreakable and very popular. I think the holders in the car are a little to fragile for me and won't hold a bottle, that's why I don't use them. I don't usually drink anything while driving, but going on a long drive and might want a drink. Always liked this forum.
Thanks again, Mike.

I considered retrofitting cup holders... but then realised it would likely just end up with my SO spilling a coffee or something in the car :?

I have cup holders and rarely use them.

Surprised most of you don't have the... NO DRINKING, NO EATING, NO SMOKING rules in the car.

No eating unless it's just sweets - if someone broke out a chocolate bar or a sandwich in mine they'd be walking. Drinking I'm fine with, tbh. I don't really want anyone smoking near my car, let alone in it.

I have cupholders. They get used for water or coffee sometimes. They're a bit too easy to knock when you get in or out of the car, IMO.

I have the cup holders in my car but as stated easy to kick over getting out of car. And as for use if you don't know you can adjust the grip on the cup buy closing the one clamp around it. (not trying to make anyone feel stupid just trying to educate those who don't know)/. But again this does not provide a sure thing. Tbh I did buy the "Ultimate Cup Holder" and do use it when on long trips for my "American Coffee". (for the long open expressway driving). Otherwise never drinking , eating, or smoking in the car. As you can see from my avatar I do enjoy a cigar once in awhile so if I fancy one while driving I take my oldest car out. And tbh do we really need cup holders in a sports car? If you want to have a drink while driving use the estate car. IMHO

I did a couple of 200 mile trips last week and found the cup-holder handy for a bottle of water, even though they aren't too secure. :(

But definitely no eating or smoking in my car.

They do if it's a bottle of water, but not a coffee cup with a plastic lid. :(
