Cup Holders, Really worth £50?!?

Hi,

Was looking at installing some cup holders, chatted to the guys at lincoln a while back and I think it was about £48 for the two. I am quite interested but I hear bad things, rattles, squeeks and generally being pants! Anyone got any other ideas before I shell out? I was looking at an ebay find but sadly they never come up in grey! Stealer or nothing sadly!

I've mine in now five months with no problems and no rattles, you just need to be a bit careful getting in and out if you are using one. So handy if you want a drink on a long journey, crazy they are not standard TBH.
 
Its up to u really- depends how much u will use them. i fitted them and really like them- plus its nice not to have blanking plates!!
 
I think they're a total waste of time. I have them, they were fitted to the car when I got it. One was broken when I got it, so I persuaded the dealer to take a working one from another z4 in the showroom, and since then I tested it once and that was it. Car has been used for 3k miles in the past month, so it's not that the car is garage jewelry.

I only ever drink bottles in the car, if I want a coffee I stop and drink it at the services etc. And the strength of the cup holders doesn't really make me think I would want to risk keeping a scalding hot cup of something just above my knee, so I haven't been convinced to change my ways. They just feel too flimsy...

On the plus side they are rattle free
 
Fitted them 2-3 years ago. Use tham all the time on long runs and find them excellent. They grip cups really well if you adjust them. No squeaks or rattles on mine :thumbsup:
 
As a daily driver, cupholders are a must-have item for me. My passenger cup holder broke recently (3 years old) but was replaced under warranty. Mine do not rattle at all.

You have some options. If you have or want to buy the leatherZ mark4 armrest, they sell a cupholder for it.

$15. I don't own this, so I can't say how well it works. I wouldn't like having to leave the cover of the armrest open to use it.

LeatherZ also makes that armrest with the cupholder on top. That's the one I'd buy.

Another company makes a cup holder for the Z4 that clips onto the side of the center console that straddles the tranny. If someone knows of a link to this item, hopfeully they will post it.
 
mine them, never used them. Only time I open them is occasionally when stuck in a traffic jam and finding something to entertain myself - out it pops, and then goes away again...small minds...

Thats true, I have used them for that, so I lied I've used them more than testing them
 
Mine are factory fitte (which i believe is part of the comfort pack) and dont ratle at all, but only used them a handful of times!

Depends on if you or your passengers drink in the car (passengers less so important as they could hold it if they had to).... if the anser is yes then i'd say they are essential!

Use mine for all sorts of drinks and they suit everything I've tried - No rattles or squeaks. Wouldn't be without mine, especially on long Mway runs.
 
If you are worried about spilled coffee, try these...ultimate cupholders...look it up on google. They slide into the side of your center console and sit on the floor. I ahve them, but mainly use the OEM cupholders. I get in and out and I am no little guy, either
