Cup holders maybe not?

Suppose this is a bit of a moan and maybe a warning to others. I got myselft a pair of cup holders as I'm missing them on the drive's up and down to Manchester,anyway ordered them up. Picked them up but they had the wrong colour facia plate on the front of them,so back they went. Got he call a few days later so headed down to pick them up. The guy informed that the holders no longer came with the finishing facia plate? they weren't in stock in the UK so they had order them direct from BMW and they'd call when they had arrived. ( plus the added cost of £4.20 each)

Its been two weeks now and I was passing so I called in to check, hadn't been delivered, so the guy checked the status and showed me a printed document stating that the current supplier had went into Liquidation and another supplier was being sought.

Just as well I hadn't fitted the holders. Is it me and am I the only one getting the feeling that the facia plates would have come complete with the holders if the supplier had went out of business. So its me the customer thats paying extra for something that they knew they couldn't supply as a complete unit as was the norm.

Rant over.
 
Would it be possible to maybe put some form or wrapping on the original ones they offered you? or some kind of paint.

Pointless at the moment.
I''ve had my passenger side cup holder on order with Joe since beginning of August and still waiting.
Same problem as above - can't get the faceplate.
I thought I'd finally got it sorted when I ordered an collected one from my local dealer, but upon opening, it had a driver side face plate supplied rather than the passenger side - AND THEY ARE NOT REVERSIBLE.

Joe, along with my local dealer says that they are trying to source a new supplier...
 
I managed to pick up a driver's side one today and it came complete with the faceplate. Not bother about the passenger one.

Correct, the fascia isn't a stand alone part.
 
I only got mine a while ago, and had no problems at all. Three bits per side iirc, well the screw is the other bit
 
Mine came with the cup holders factory fitted and in 18 months of ownership I have never used them.
Come to think of it, if you have time to sip hot drinks in your Z, you're doing it wrong... :poke: :fuelfire:
 
They're defo separate parts have their part No. and cost £4.20 each, I'll have to check for the screw though don't remember seeing one. At least I'm not alone with the missing trim.

I'd just finished typing mine 5 minutes after playalistics post when I suddenly realised he was offering the drivers side one - which I already have :lol:

If anyone wants to repeat playalistics kind offer BUT WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE ONE then give me a shout :thumbsup:
 
Cooper Reading have them too. Just got some. But then after installing in my M I then of course realised I had spare ones all along. Doh.
