Cup holders at £82

Just got a Z4 and have a euro drive lined up later in the year for a good few ks :driving: coffee in reach preferred but missing the cup holders. Local dealership just quoted me £82 for the pair inc VAT but not fitted. That's a lot of coffee for value and there seem to be mixed reviews. :?

Fairly recent threads suggest about £50, is my main dealer a bandit? Anyone know of any other suppliers / options? Vent trash off limits, presume door window hangers no go.

easy to fit yourself, but I wouldnt pay £82 for 'em, they aint that good :?

keep an eye on ebay and for sale section here - they do come up - and for a lot less.

edit - you talking E85 or E89 ??

Thanks for info. It's E85 (57 plate), will add footer bumf when I get chance.

Will have a look on ebay again, are they quite flimsy / at risk of being faulty second hand? Expect to be robust as BMW...

I bought a set off here which were fine.

I then bought some side air vents of ebay which included the cup holders... one was fine one was broke. Sold them on here anyway and I believe the guy managed to fix the broken one...

some find them flimsy, I find them fine!

Why oh why would you want them ... drinks in a performance car would go everywhere (well, they would in my car).

That's a crazy price. 50 for a pair is closer the mark. Who quoted you that? Have you tried Joe @ sopers? If you don't have them already you need the ones with face plates.

Think it was me that got them off you gannet. Repairing isn't too hard but not really worth it IMO as it failed again after some use - the plastic isn't easy to glue.

X2 for Joe at Sopers 01522 690000 ask for recorded delivery, some of my stuff went missing in the post. They re sent it and that went missing too. After that I always ask for recorded delivery, they dont charge extra

Im after some cupholders, its pissin me off, having to stretch around the back of the seat to get a bottle of water out of the cubby hole. They seem a bit expensive even at £50 (how stupid is it that they arn't standard on a £30,000 car). Can anybody tell me if they are intrusive in any way whilst you are driving.

Wouldn't be without mine. No matter what sixe drink I put in it, it always holds it well. They are adjustable to the size of cup/bottle.

Be carefull when getting in and out of the car though, as they do stick out when in use and are easy to catch.

I got mine from Joe at Sopers too. However, I was sent both cup holders, and two front face plates, but the face plates were both for the driver side and are not interchangeable. I sent it back to Joe, but he could not locate stock of any left side front plates. Apparently, the manufacturer had gone to the wall. I was put on a list to be informed when new face plates could be located. Sadly, I have never been "informed" they were now back in availability. (As they clearly are in the post above :tumbleweed: )

I paid about £26 for the driver side. £82 is OTT for a pair.

i only used mine once, my drink spilled slightly and i then nearly crashed whilst trying to catch the spill before it ended on the floor

never used them since

I'll give you a tenner for the passenger side one

Thanks guys... waiting for a call back from Joe / Sopers.

The £82 was from both Harrogate Stratstone and Leeds Scotthall dealers.... and they're waiting for me to collect.

Only thing is I need them this week in time for a 3-4k euro road trip!!!!!!!! :D

@PVR - hence will need many a coffee to wire me in the morning and will not be leaning (too many) corners around the Alps with the Mrs screaming explitives at me (most annoying)!

Had a look at ebay, there is one listing but for £55 for one including the vent, which most people presumably still have by default. :o

Will stop grumbling and brace for the hit from the Statstone bandit. Mrs insists she still 'needs' one too.

make sure to post pics of your trip - check out the road trip section

Will do ta

Just to round this off. After quitting blubbing, I have to admit to being impressed by the design and hold so far on a medium Costa take-out. They were actually £26 + £7 + VAT each ish. Went with Stratstone as where ready and no call back from Sopers.
