The adjustable arm on my driver-side cup holder is broken. When the holder pops out I can't adjust the arm and it's permanently "wide open". Anyone fixed this?
P.S. I had a quick search here but I couldn't find anything
Can't help with the fix, but I did retro-fit a cup holder, and that's not too tricky - cost circa £25 from memory, so might be worth getting that rather than risking a repair job / hot drink in lap combo!
They are fairly easy to strip down - I've done it and repaired one. Can't really say much about it apart from take it out and look for the obvious point to strip it. There's a small spring and a metal pin that lock it when squeezed. This has probably dropped out / jammed.
I banged my knee on mine and it wouldnt open - its easy enough to remove and put back together if nothing is actually broken, In my case the housing ahd come unclipped in one place - clipped it back and all was well.
