I've been a user of Clusty for years and never really a fan of Google. I'll have to take a deeper look at cuil

Tried a couple of searches on some photographic techniques I had looked into earlier today on google. Cuil was a complete waste of time - google found 20+ pages of references and Cuil directed me to searches on famous people where it found some of the words I used in the search and not a single link for photography.

If I wanted that kind of drivel I would read National Inquirer.......

Cuil has a lot of flakiness at the moment. There was an article somewhere I read of someone doing a search for his name and finding articles next to pictures of homosexual p0rn. When tasked about it, Cuil said it was because their servers were under too much load (which is not a good sign). When I did a test I found plenty of stuff with safe search on, but as soon as I switched safe search off, I found nothing ... not a single hit!

As far as I'm concerned, they've screwed the pooch and they're going to have to come up with something good or they're just going to vanish. It's not a patch on google. :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown:

just for kicks I searched "20ducks" on Cuil. 7330 hits. Mostly posts from various forums. How many forums are you on?

i like words, not pictures. Couple comparos found more of what i was looking for on google than on cuil. Cuil may get better with time, but I like the google display better.

PVR, you like Fortinet firewalls? My demo box is due in a week or so.
