Not much to tell to be honest.... wrap the cord around your hand like I've shown in the picture....the cord actually makes the perfect angle to cut the paint at, and, with more pressure on the cord side, glide the Nibber over any raised paint... it will shave it off until all paint is level...

it's harder to explain than use! :headbang:

So I have never use a clay bar or clay mit, are they really that good!? What do they actually do?

cheers...

the clay pulls out contaminants within the paint... if you run your hand over the car and it doesn't feel as smooth as glass, then you could see a good improvement using these...

very easy to use, and they are one of the steps that really make a difference to get your paint as good as it can be...

Second what cueball says I have only used it for the first time recently. And I can't rate it enough great results nd easy to use.

Will have to try one. Is a clay bar a clay bar or are there some better than others?

there are different grades of clay, so you have a fine one and a corse one....

but basically, if you ignore the cheap Chinese fakes being sold.... I believe there is only a few few companies who actually make clay, so they are all basically the same...

there is a lot of rebranding within detailing, especially in the UK... most of the people who claim to make their own are just buying it in...

so anyway.... I would get a fine clay, and make some lube up with just water and shampoo.... keep the car as wet as possible and keep spraying the lube on the paint....

I thought I would just turn this into an update thread rather than staring a new one... so I've got some new items to fit soon...

new CDV valve:

New MFSW:

and some cruise control:

Not sure when I'll get them all in mind you....

:D :D :D

ever thought about doing a small detailing biz cueball?

No, only for fun and chill out for me.

With the tools, products and time it takes me, I wouldn't make any money anyway!

I do friends and family etc for a few beers... Good value for money if I do say so myself... I take a sailor jerry as well off my mate that 'demands' zymol Royale on his car....

If I was closer to Glasgow Cueball, I'd ready myself to buy you a few exchange beers! Good work.

Do you use a machine polisher on that...?

I do indeed, this was dealt with using my 3M rotary and Scholl S17... then I spent some time refining it with a finishing pad and Scholl S40.

Some blood, sweat, tears and WTF's later:

Time to cut:

Much better:

and all put back together:

Much happier with the chunkie monkey wheel....

Not so happy about the wiring though.... Now I was sure that since my car was built in September 04 I didn't need the extra cables etc (according to the guides on here), but seems I do - unless I really can't find the plug needed... but I looked and looked, traced every wire there... a bit odd...... so everything in place at the moment, but nothing works!  :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:
