Cubby hole conversion

I was wondering, does anyone know, or has anyone tried, using the little pocket thing in front of the drop down storage door as a phone charger?

I have a Blackberry Bold 9700, which fits it perfectly, and was thinking of fitting a desk charger into the bottom of it, so I just slot the phoe in, and it will start charging.

I have ordered all the bits to retrofit the Aux input for the stereo, and was thinking of charging options, where to actually put the phone etc.

Any thoughts would be welcome

Isn't that what it's intended for? I thought you could buy snap in adaptors from BMW that fit in there for different phones, although they're quite expensive.
 
I have a case on my phone - makes snap in cradles useless.

Maybe you could route the Aux cable and charger into the glovebox? that's where I have mine. plus routing the Aux and charger to the cubby hole, would require long wires and basically pulling your whole interior apart...
 
My original plan was to put the Aux in socket for the stereo, plus a power supply with a double USB adaptor in the foldy-down thing between the seats, as I too have a case.

But then I thought I might somehow fix the phone to the door of the said foldy-down thing, as there is a phone(ish) shaped recess in mine.

But then I thought, why not stand it in the hole that looks like a desktop charger cradle, and fit a desktop charger cradle to the bottom of the hole. Means I'll have to switch it, save any dropped change/ sunglasses etc shorting it out, but then I just have to have an audio jack lead coming from somewhere, and it will be neat and tidy.

Also means I don't have to have the foldy-down thing open while I'm driving, or have to reach over to the glove-compartment to mess about?
