What's the best model Ctek trickle charger I can get for my 3.0SE for winter use ? I see you can get an adaptor so you can just plug it in the lighter point - will it work just as well using this method ?

I've got a Cetek XS Multi 7000. It's one of the better ones. It's very powerful and compact and does a maintenance charge
It comes with three quick fit detachable ends for connecting to either the cigarette charger point, crocodile clips or the one which I prefer and use, where you bolt a positive and a negative connector(supplied with the charger) to the battery terminals and the quick fit end clips on and off very quickly and easily leaving the connections on the battery ready for quick reconnecting. They are of course insulated so no need to do anything with them once disconnected
Just open the boot and connect in a few seconds

Even the smallest (3.8?) model will keep your battery trickle charged - look at the features on the others and see if they would be of any use
IIRC the lighter attachment will only work if the lighter socket is permanently live. I use the direct-to-battery cable and sit the charger in the boot

I have this one, I got it a little while back when it was £34

Works a treat, I got extension cable to charge it on my drive  great product

You can feed the battery terminal push-fit lead through so that it's unobtrusive but quick to connect/disconnect

The handbook says the lighter socket is operational with the ignition off - will be kept in garage over winter months so leaning towards using this method - though I'm well impressed with the set ups illustrated - thanks for responses.
