CTEK Alternative

Sorry, don't now anything about hoovers, we have Miele.

I highly recommend this from Ring/Osram that I bought recently. As good as ctek but much less expensive and 8A is a good current to charge and then maintain your AGM battery.

Many thanks for this  Just had a quick look at a few reviews on YouTube which all seem positive. The cables to the unit body on this charger looks to be alot more robust than the CTEK charger. Don't know why CTEK couldn't have used a similar method than just having the cable alone going straight into the unit body with no additional moulding which then like mine the cable sheathing splits and peels away over time. Think at that price I may as well get one ordered so thanks for the link :)

You are welcome, Tim. I've had mine for a few months used on both my AGM car batteries, and am very impressed with build quality and performance, particularly for so little money.

RING " suggest you use the winter mode * when charging AGM batteries. If it is a 80A AGM battery it doesn’t really matter whether you charge at 4 Amps or 8 Amps, it won’t affect the battery."

Thanks again Lee, much appreciated.

Seeing as they are half the price of Dyson,
Really?
Only Miele appliance we have is a washing machine, cos I got fed up with cheap crap going pop every few years. And washing machines are bloody heavy and a pain to replace (because they are so heavy and awkward to move).

Washing up liquid on the floor, or in your case Castrol GTX :D that's how I move mine.
