CSLs

You have a very strange way of looking at many things.

You are not the first to say that.

Not my fault others are less good at thinking and fail to come to the same 100% correct conclusions I do ;-)

Yeah not sure about that.
But you carry on doing you

Makes sense... I never actually see emojis on this site - I dust see text like : y c a r d : (spaces added in case I actually create an emoji and this post makes no sense) and just had no idea!

Yes indeed. It was a yellow card emoji for saying the ubiquitous MV2s were better than the 224s. I didn’t give you a red because it’s a subjective assessment. I challenge you to post a poll asking which are better :poke:

Ubiquitous because they are lovely!

I think I'm with the minority on this one. Even though I currently have 224s. I'd still love to scratch that 19 inch csl itch (hint hint Simon, assuming your csl's fit a z4c). I'm apprehensive about the brake dust factor and the decade it takes to clean each wheel, but as with many on here, I'd need to live with them for a while before rage against the wheel takes over. But until that time, CSL's rule  in my opinion

Mine came with custom wheels which are a bit like CSLs... 19s. I love the look. One day I will fit 18s for comparison, but I can;t see myself sticking with them (unless I end up with two... a classy E86 on MV2s, and a more modded one on the wheels I have fitted now.)

Nothing against the 224, but the CSL wheels look so much better in the first post.

It’s only my holy trinity of procrastination, frugality and indecision that’s stopped me from buying a set over the years!

I think I may be one of the few who actually prefers 224s!!

I think the rears may be a little under tyred needing a slightly higher profile.

I have OE CSL's. so that removes the reps are crap angle. You cant beat the deep dish look of the CSL's - the photo below doesn't quite do it justice, deeper looking in the flesh.

That said, I think for CSL's to look as if they came like that from the factory, the car needs lowering a touch as the arch gap is a little too large in my opinion.

I haven't got round to this, in part as I don't want to create an issue on ground clearance - something that I welcomed getting into European underground carparks this year on the trip. Second, at some stage my springs will need replacement, as I have some flaking on the rears, so want to tie this in with a proper refresh, and decide which setup to go with.

Call me a wierdo but I think the tyres look way too low-profile on the CSLs. Looks a bit 'rubber-band-y' imo

Give me a 18"s with a proper chonky sidewall all day long

Yeah. That was always the original E46 CSL look though. Aftermarket vibes - although compared to the latest crop of CS/CSLs it’s nothing, of course!

I like them on a coupe but couldn’t live with 265/30 on the rear for long. The other thing I’ve noticed about them (having owned from new) is that the factory coating is superb.
