Is the aux the only difference between MY07 and 06 builds?

Re the aux port, it is indeed from late 2006 onwards on all M models. Is it possible that your manufacture date is from 2006? That cutout flap you are referring to can indeed be pulled out completely if need be, and on the right side of that flap is the aux port.

If you do not have it, it is either a 2006 car or you need to ask the dealer for the flap with the aux port in it.

Yeah standard springs.

Going to book it in for an oil service soon so I'll get the aux issue ironed out then.
