CSL Wheels & Tyres

I currently have a e86 couple with 108 style wheels with Bridgestone run-flats. These came with the car when I purchased it and I really wanted to change the tyres to Michelin Pilots. Anyway 2 years later now I’m in the market for a set of 18” CSL wheels with tyres (non run-flats) to give the car a fresh look. Ideally I want wheels that don’t require any modifications so I can switch back to the 108 which I will keep. Thanks

You can buy the 18’s from BM Autosport fairly cheaply for new wheels.
But the 18 csl reps really don’t look quite right. You don’t get the same concave as the 19’s.

Thanks j3nks79. Ideally i wanted to stay at 18” as I’m assuming here that 19” would require modification on the wheel setup??

The 19’s are a firmer ride. Might be worth looking at the csl 359 in 18”. They look better than the csl because the have a lovely deep concave to them.
Worth check out for sure if you want to stay 18”

Wow these look great just the ticket!

Does anyone have a pic of these on the car?

Just one question my 108 style wheels have the following 8x18 front / 8,5x18 rear and these are 8.5" front / 9.5" rear, will these fit and what modifications are required.

Also ideally I want to go with Michelin PS what would be ideal size? Thanks again

Those 359 would be a straight fit and would sit in the arches just right.

I’d run the standard tyre size with them

My car came with 19" CSL Reps that were 8.5J on the front and 9.5J on the rear. Tyres were 235s on the front and 265 on the rear.

With those rim widths I'd go for slightly wider tyres than original, even if just to give the wheels some protection!

That’s very nice Mr Tidy. I think I’m going to stick with 18”. I do like the wheels j2nks79 mentioned earlier in the thread and as he said these should fit without any modifications.

I don't blame you for sticking to 18s!

That's partly why I replaced them with a set of 18" OE 224s.

Some years ago I sold a set of 18" CSL Reps that were all 8J ET40 to another forum member.

Riva dtms are a closer match to 108s, and are £200 cheaper than veemanns...

Though to be honest, there are loads of csl replica wheels out there, hugely popular wheel style.

Any of these wheel companies do an exchange service? I’m in the mood to change my 108’s before they get rough and 18” staggered CSL reps (with a dish) would be great.

I don't know if any offer an exchange, but I doubt it somehow.

With my previous Z4 like you I wanted to move my 108s on while they still looked presentable. I got lucky and found a set of E89 staggered 18s on here so I bought those then sold the 108s. Doing something similar might be your best bet.

My current 108 are in really good nick they were refurb’d by previous owner and after 2 years still look superb. The only issue was they were fitted with Bridgestone runflats. I may keep them as a second set but probably change my mind once I get a new set of wheels with Michelin PS non run flats.

Does anyone have these fitted to their e86 - saw these on BM Autosports https://www.bmautosport.co.uk/new-18-fox-bma-s1-alloy-wheels-in-gloss-black-with-polished-face-wider-rears
