CSL wheels query, only possible to order against CSL VIN

Hey Guys and Gals,

went to Berry's BMW in Stockley Park to enquire about the price of the CSL wheels and what got me was that you apparently need CSL V5 certificate to order these agains the VIN number. Was the guy just pulling my leg or its true??
I cant believe that they don't sell them to anyone...

Always been the case but there are other suppliers or you can just lift any vin from the web.

Yep spot on a few dealers won't tho… Think the dealer in swindon won't from memory… can't remember the dealer name tho. Don't think sophers will either.

Dick lovett in Swindon won't do it without a vin no and V5C.

Last time I popped into Coopers in Cheltenham I asked and got pretty much that same reply except they alluded to the fact that if i phoned up with a valid vin no the might be able to do it :wink:

No idea where to get a vin no from!

There was a couple of threads a while ago about a dealer that would do it for you. I think it was Westerly BMW in bridgewater/taunton from memory. Something like £1780 for the set inc. VAT

Eastern BMW Edinburgh replaced a buckled CSL wheel that I had with no questions or quibbles about V5....

They did charge a fortune for it though 8)
