CSL wheels on eBay?

This seller is offering what he says are genuine CSLs on the phone:

Says he has a contact at BMW in Germany who ships them to him grey import so they don't have serial numbers etc. but says they are genuine.

Can you tell if they are genuine by weighing them? (I heard fakes are heavier).. otherwise it looks a little fishy..

Any thoughts?

How far do you think you could throw a set of CSL wheels with tyres? Well that's about as far as I'd trust this guy.

They'll be copies/fakes/replicas/counterfeits/whateveryouwanttocallthem. If they're genuine you'd think they'd be made by BBS rather than Ronal as in the advert.

The fact that they advertise multiple sizes is a dead giveaway, as they're only available in 2 front widths/offsets and 1 rear width/offset for the CSL/CS. Not to mention the 'T' load rating for the front tyres :o

If they're BMW supplied wheels then they'll have the proper numbers on, no matter which 3rd party they go through. Unless you want to believe that this 'contact at BMW' manages to get the wheels BEFORE they've been stamped (although they're probably cast/forged with the numbers on the mould) up and sent to BMW.

It's obvious they're not the real deal, genuine CSL's don't come in multiple offsets "WITH THE CORRECT FITTMENT FOR YOUR CAR".

"FINESHED IN ANTHERSITE & DIAMOND CUT FACE ". Mmmh.......

If he told you that they come from BMW and are genuine, then report him to ebay since clearly he is attempting to defraud you.

If you do a search on this forum you should find a thread somewhere about differentiating between genuine and replica CSLs.
