CSL wheels, 19 inch

Hi

I’d like to buy some 19 inch CSL wheels if anyone has any for sale.

There’s a couple of sellers on EBay selling brand new sets for £1799 or just over £1500 if I am happy to buy from Germany but would like to try an save some money if I can get a used set. I’m in Southampton

It might be worth specifying whether you are looking for genuine BMW CSLs because there are loads of Replicas around!

My car came with CSL Replicas fitted that are exactly the same sizes and offsets, but aren't genuine.

Mr T, in terms of weight, are your replicas heavier than the 224’s, as know OEM CSL’s are lighter.

The OP’s @ the right money for a good used set with good tyres, just needs IMO to be patient

Interesting question, but I've no idea! I didn't weigh them when they were off the car at Ross's place, and I don't know what a genuine one weighs. :roll:

Id be interested to see the numbers if you have them , ive handled & swapped many sets of 18s, 19s including 2 sets of gen CSls & i can't recall them standing out as any lighter or heavier than either rep 19s or 224s

I really had my heart set on originals even though they are so much more expensive than replicas - am I wasting my money do you think and are replicas a decent quality?

Never bothered weighing the OEM CSL’s, just remember at the time thinking they seemed lighter than the 224’s... & certainly much lighter than a set of 19” Rotor alloys i had on a TT

Some replicas are very good, others poor. I felt the dish on OEM CSL’s was deeper & personally just wanted a BMW part...

In the end, you pays your money & makes your personal choice, where the main giveaway is the BMW logo between the cap & ///M logo

It does make me chuckle when people make decisions on car accessories and mods all based on weight and saving a few pounds.
Why would you pay £100's more to save a few lbs of weight on the car, when its probably easier and wiser to just look at yourself in the mirror and see if you can knock half a stone off there instead 8)

All these boy racers who strip the guts out of their Saxo's and Corsa's to make them lighter and faster, only to sit in Asda car park every night stuffing Donuts, KFC & McD's and swilling Pepsi down their throats

To be fair if the Reps are the same size and offset as genuine ones I can't see how the dish will be significantly different. :?

Whichever you go for you're unlikely to have a problem selling them when you sell your car, but the crucial thing is to be sure if you pay a "genuine" price you get genuine wheels!

As my Reps were already fitted when I bought the car I don't know who made them or where they came from but I like them. And this being z4forum I suppose a photo is in order. :lol: (The headlight washer cover is now in place).

You’d be surprised how much the dish can vary 2dogs had a set of reps, and parked next to mine it was very noticeable on the rears. But that’s just one brand of wheel.

For the driving I do as mr Wilks says I’m not going to notice the weight difference so would happily buy good quality reps.

Even genuine CSL wheels aren’t made by bmw after all, they are BBS.

If it was that relevant to buy the gens for weight save then you should pay some attention to tyre brand choice too :wink:
eg a Goodyear Eagle F1 225 45 17 weighs 10.1kg , a Dunlop SportMaxxRT 225 45 17 weighs 8.4kg though as Number5 points out , the mirror is probably the best place to start if you are intent on dropping max weight

CM Wheels and BM Autosport are often mentioned on this forum. I believe they may give discount if you mention this forum, although whether that still applies in the current climate I don't know.
